Titanium Equipment Commonly Fabricated in Petroleum Machinery Processing

Under petroleum machinery processing conditions, the following titanium equipment can be manufactured using titanium alloys:

Titanium heat exchangers,Filters (sedimenters),Storage tanks for crude oil and petroleum products,Locking devices,Sewage pipelines, and Crude oil pipelines.

Some petrochemical and petroleum refining industries have experience in fabricating and operating titanium alloy equipment. For example, the Moscow Petroleum Refinery utilized BT1-0 titanium alloy to manufacture:

Acrylonitrile polymerization reactors,Pulsators for decomposers,Condensers,

Washing and screening towers.

Titanium-lined containers are suitable for processes such as evaporation (concentration), distillation, or reactions in weakly acidic or chloride-containing solutions. They are also applicable for containers used in:

Nitration of organic materials with nitric acid,Chemical reactions involving oxidizing media,

Solutions containing chromic acid, and Sulfurized chromic acid solutions (depending on reaction temperature requirements).

In the chemical raw material industry, titanium-lined equipment is employed under catalytic oxidation conditions of hydrocarbons using copper and chloride-containing solutions at specific pH values. For catalytic processes at approximately 150–200°C, titanium-made acetaldehyde production equipment is widely adopted. Key components include:

In electrolytic copper refining, titanium starter sheets for cathodes are manufactured using titanium plates.
